You may be curious about the name of our company, and the meaning behind it. Also known as the Ethic of reciprocity, this golden rule crosses all boundaries of race, religion and history.
In mathematics, The Golden Rule is also called the golden ratio, an ancient law of proportion and balance that pervades structures throughout architecture, art, and the natural world alike.
Our company culture is built on the ethical golden rule, and our design/build approach always strives to acheive beautiful construction.

The owner, Ajax Woolley, became a journeyman carpenter over the years, working on homes in Florida, North Carolina, and Hawaii. As a lead carpenter and manager for custom builders and remodelers from 2000 thru 2004, he formed the vision for a small and focused remodeling firm to serve Triangle homeowners.
Golden Rule was started in 2004 as a sole proprietorship and organized as an LLC in January 2006. We are now a Licensed General Contractor (NC Lic. #60711), specializing in residential remodeling.
