Rebuilding a historic porch is not the sort of project you want to hand to an amateur. There are many factors at play; the old settling structure, the unique moldings, the decaying paint (often so many layers thick you cannot imagine what the next coat will look like). Most of all, the challenge is shoring and leveling things in such a way that they look even and distributed, even when there's a 2" difference between where something is and where it should be.
This entry has a rather unique vestibule leading to the parlor; an oak door with beveled glass--- the door is 42" wide as was the custom in the old days, when getting a coffin in and out of the house was a consideration.
