Kitchen remodels often present an opportunity to branch into adjacent rooms and systems that need upgrading. Altering a midcentury style floorplan to accomodate a more modern workflow and lifestyle is a specialty of ours.
The use of mixed cabinet and countertop elements in this kitchen is noteworthy; the black cabinetry with limestone countertop is a hub for concealed storage of electronics (stereo, cell phone chargers, etc...) and daily bric-a-brac like pens and pencils, checkbook, notepads and the like.
The flooring on this project has the appearance of natural stone, but is in fact cork flooring, stained by hand and laid out in a masonry grid to mimic the appearance of stone pavers.
